The Collective School and Innovative Services initiative consists of separate sub-projects in the cities of Helsinki, Turku and Lappeenranta. The projects are united in their wish to promote collectivity and student participation in their schools. They aim at developing better school environments together with various interest groups. The project goal is to promote digital services that support collectivity together with the students, and to support schools in developing their operation through involving methods.
In Lappeenranta, our goal is to produce a digital environment for publishing school community news. Besides student involvement and media education the environment also acts as a communication channel between the school, parents and various interest groups for example resident association, youth work service and student parliament. The Lappeenranta pilot also includes 3D techniques, and utilises augmented reality techniques combining real and virtual environments in schools. One of the school member in the project is Lappee Primary.
